Red lights
Not negotiable. We stop at all red lights and obey all traffic laws. This is a total no brainer.
Lights and bells
NYC law says all bikes need a bell, rear red light and front white light. This helps others see us, but also helps us see the road when it’s dark. We recommend Knog lights for quick day journeys, and Cygolite for when you’re not playin’. The best bell we’ve ever used is the Spurcycle bell.
Shop Local
Redbeard Bikes in DUMBO is a great shop to get your cycling accessories. They’re a friendly shop that encourages NYC bike culture. They’re an excellent resource for all things related to your bike.
